This week, I have something different and fun for you. My 14-year-old niece Hannah wrote a skit to perform at the talent night at junior high camp a few weeks ago. She didn’t get to perform the skit, but I thought she did a great job on it, so I wanted to share it with you.
Hannah is going on a mission trip with our church in a couple weeks. She is working on raising some funds to help with the costs of the trip. If you would be willing to support her, consider donating using the button below. I’ll make sure every dollar you donate gets to her. To make sure I know your donation is for her, write “for Hannah” in the message box.

Scene 1
(WE BEGIN WITH THE NARRATOR AT CENTER STAGE.)
NARRATOR: Once upon a time, in Quapaw, Oklahoma, a girl named CiCi dreamed of being a model. She had enjoyed dressing up since she was little and loved going shopping with her friend, Laura. In fact, they were going shopping after school that day, and that made CiCi very, very excited.
(THE NARRATOR EXITS. CICI AND HER DAD ENTER.)
CICI: Mornin', Dad.
CICI'S DAD: Good morning, CiCi. Looks like you're all ready for the day! What's the rush?
CICI: I'm super excited to go shopping with Laura today!
CICI'S DAD: I'm glad you're excited. Just remember Ephesians 4:32: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ forgave you.”
CICI: OK, thanks, Dad. Love you!
CICI'S DAD: Love you too.
(CICI EXITS.)

Scene 2
(THE NARRATOR ENTERS.)
NARRATOR: On her way to school, CiCi could not stop thinking about what her dad had said. When she got there, she found Laura (LAURA ENTERS, THEY WAVE TO EACH OTHER AND START “TALKING” ), who was waiting for her.
But as they started chatting, things took a turn for the worse.
(ANGELA AND ROSE ENTER.)
ANGELA (CACKLING): Look over there, see pizza face?
ROSE: Yeah, she thinks she's so pretty. (CACKLES)
(AT THIS, CICI IS ALERTED. SHE TURNS AROUND TO FACE THE BULLIES.)
CICI: Who are you calling pizza face, (IN DISGUST) Angela?
ROSE: Ha! You think you're so beautiful. Well, guess what: We are so much more fashionable than you are.
LAURA: Stop that, Rose, she's my friend!
ANGELA: And what are you gonna do?
CICI: I am no pizza face!
ANGELA: Go look at yourself in the mirror. You know it's true.
LAURA: Don't listen to her, CiCi.
CICI: I – I....
(SHE RUNS OFF SOBBING.)
LAURA: Now look what you did!
(ANGELA LOOKS DOWN AT HER FEET.)
ANGELA: You're right, Laura. I didn't mean to make her cry. I'm sorry.
LAURA: It's not me you should apologize to, Angela. It's CiCi.
ANGELA: Well, where is CiCi?
ROSE: I saw her go that way. (POINTS)
LAURA: I'll go after her.
(LAURA EXITS.)

END OF SCENE 2
Scene 3
(CICI ENTERS, STILL CRYING, AND SITS DOWN ON THE FLOOR WITH HER HEAD IN HER HANDS.)
CICI: Oh, God, why do they have to be so mean?
(LAURA ENTERS.)
LAURA: There you are.
CICI: Hi, Laura.
LAURA: Hey...about what happened...well, you know.
CICI: Angela and Rose are right. I hate it so much, but they're right. I've always wanted to be a model, and now I have to deal with these pimples. I'll never have the chance to be a model. Never!
(A BEAT.)
LAURA: Hey…I still think you can be a model. Just in a different way.
CICI: Really? How?
LAURA: Well....I think you can be a model....for Jesus.
CICI: A model for Jesus? (ANOTHER BEAT) What does that mean?
LAURA: Well, when you “model” Jesus, you act like him. In the Bible, it says, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ forgave you.” Jesus died on a cross so that you could receive God's forgiveness for your sins. He wants us to follow his example and forgive others, even when it's hard.
CICI: Like now?
LAURA: Especially now. You wanna go show off Jesus' style to a couple specific people?
CICI: I have some people I need to forgive. (LOOKS AT LAURA) Thanks, Laura.
LAURA: Anytime. (LOOKS OVER HER SHOULDER) Look, here they come now!
(ANGELA AND ROSE ENTER. CICI TAKES HER PLACE AT CENTER.)
CICI: Hi, Angela. Hi, Rose.
ANGELA AND ROSE TOGETHER: Hi, CiCi.
ROSE: We're sorry for insulting you. And Laura, too.
ANGELA: Will you forgive us?
(A BEAT.)
CICI: Apology accepted. And yes, we do forgive you. (HOLDS OUT HER ARMS) Hugs?
ANGELA AND ROSE TOGETHER: Sure.
(THE FOUR HUG.)
CICI: Hey, my dad is taking us shopping after school. Do you guys want to come?
ROSE: Sure, I love shopping!
ANGELA: Does this mean we're good?
CICI: Of course.
(THE GIRLS EXIT.)

Scene 4
(THE NARRATOR ENTERS.)
NARRATOR: 8 hours later.
(THE NARRATOR EXITS. THE GIRLS AND CICI'S DAD ENTER.)
CICI'S DAD: Hi, CiCi! Are you and your friends ready to go shopping?
CICI: Uh-huh.
CICI'S DAD: Did you remember the verse I told you today?
CICI: Let's just say that I learned something today.
CICI'S DAD: Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go shopping!
(THE GIRLS AND CICI'S DAD EXIT. THE NARRATOR ENTERS.)
NARRATOR: And so, the girls and CiCi's dad had an amazing shopping trip. While they were shopping, Angela and Rose asked CiCi how she could so easily forgive them, and CiCi got to share Ephesians 4:32 with them and introduce them to her special friend, Jesus. The end.
(THE NARRATOR EXITS.)
