Welcome to Grounded in the Bible
Find out how Grounded in the Bible can help you "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
Welcome to Grounded in the Bible! I’m so glad you found us!
The mission of Grounded in the Bible is to deliver weekly Bible studies to help you "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 3:18) As long as I am writing for Grounded in the Bible, that will continue to be my mission.
Starting May 2025, all past and future posts will be unlocked for all subscribers. You will not find any content behind a paywall. I figure, if I’m spending the time to write anyway, and I’m sharing the message that God is giving me, then I might as well share with whoever God wants to reach!
What are the benefits of becoming a subscriber?
Weekly Bible studies delivered directly to your inbox: This is the core mission of Grounded in the Bible. The goal of these Bible studies is to help you grow in your Bible knowledge and deepen your relationship with God. New posts include an audio version read by me (not an AI voice).
Access to past Bible studies: Past weekly Bible studies are available to you through the archives. You can work through these studies on your own time.
Access to spontaneous ponderings: Sometimes I have Bible-related thoughts running through my head that may not be as fully developed as my weekly Bible studies. Occasionally, I might decide to put these thoughts onto paper and share them with you.
Access to James Method verse mapping posts: I received a James Method verse mapping journal for Christmas 2023. For each verse map I finish, I will post it for subscribers. This verse mapping method is what I will be using for my own personal Bible study, so this will give you a glimpse into what I am learning throughout the year.
Access to discussion posts: Discussion posts are intended to get your feedback or ideas on a question I pose to the group. These will be most impactful if everyone participates, so please share your thoughts!
Courses: Over time, I will be adding courses to the resources available through Grounded in the Bible. These courses are designed to provide practical application for living life as a Christ-follower.
Access to Notes: Substack has a Notes platform that I often use to reflect on ideas that were meaningful to me from other writers’ posts or to share thoughts from my own daily Bible readings. You can access these Notes on Grounded in the Bible’s website or through the Substack app (highly recommend the app!).
Access to premium resources: Some studies come along with premium resources that support the weekly Bible studies, such as journaling sheets, PowerPoint presentations, verse cards, or Bible bingo cards.
Access to site indexes: As I begin to build my library of Bible studies, it may become difficult to find a study on a specific topic among all of the weekly posts. I will post indexes of articles that can be used to find a Bible study that covers a topic you want to understand.
What are the benefits of becoming a paid subscriber?

Content Highlights
To get you caught up with Grounded in the Bible’s library of content, here are some past studies you can look through as you have time. Note that all studies provide links for each Scripture passage so that you can look at context if you want. Understanding the context of a verse is essential for proper understanding. I would encourage you to read the context of each verse as you have time.
Keep in mind that you can go through studies at your own pace and on your own time. You do not need to keep up with the weekly Bible studies if your schedule doesn’t allow for that. If a past study looks interesting to you, feel free to take as much time as you need to go through that study instead of (or along with) the current study.

More than anything, my prayer for you is that you will develop a desire to grow closer to Christ and to spend time in His Word. If that’s not through Grounded in the Bible’s weekly studies, then I pray you find another source for Bible study that uses Scripture as the foundation for study. And don’t forget to find a Bible-based church where you can fellowship together with a group of believers! That is essential for continued spiritual growth.
In Christ,
Karen
