Every couple weeks, we take time to think about what God is doing in the world around us.
We start with a video highlighting a nation around the world and how we can pray for the people in that nation. Then, we ask you to discuss how you see God working in your life and community.
This week’s country to pray for is Turkey.
You can see the full information about Turkey from Prayercast’s website.
These are the prayer points listed in the video:
If you feel led, consider writing out a short prayer for Turkey in the comment section.
And now we ask you:
How have you seen God working in the world around you in the past few weeks?
This could be something that happened to you, something you witnessed someone else do, or a story you saw that spoke to your heart. Examples include:
You saw a news story of Christ at work in the world.
You saw someone do something extraordinarily kind for someone else.
Someone came to help you in your time of need in an unexpected way.
You witnessed someone accept Christ as their Savior or be baptized.
Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in our own little world that we fail to look for signs of Christ working in the world around us. This often leads us to believe that Christ isn’t working. I’m hoping that by consistently posing this question, it will remind us to be looking for evidence that Christ is still at work through his people. Some weeks, we may not get any stories. Some weeks, we may get a lot of stories. But I want the opportunity to always be there for you to share stories of how Christ is at work as a way to encourage Christians to stay strong in the faith.
John 13:34-35: [Jesus said] “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
I hope you will join me in sharing your stories! If you have a story and don’t want to wait for the next post, feel free to go back and find the previous post and share your story there!
