Grounded in the Bible
Grounded in the Bible delivers weekly Bible studies to help you “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 3:18)
Every person who is seeking truth and connection with God needs a source for learning. The primary source of learning should be the Bible itself - God’s word. That’s why each study from Grounded in the Bible is filled with Scripture. Each study strives to bring out important concepts in the Bible to help you grow in your relationship with Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:7 says, “So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” For some, the studies from Grounded in the Bible may plant a seed in your heart to help you realize you need a relationship with God. For others, the studies from Grounded in the Bible may water the seed that has been planted by someone else. But no matter what the study is, only God can make that information grow in your heart to bring you closer to him. My greatest prayer is that God will use my humble writings to help his children grow.
Why subscribe?
By subscribing, a new Bible study will be delivered to your inbox every week. You won’t have to worry about missing anything. Those studies will be there for you to read and re-read, or share with others. These new weekly Bible studies will always be free.
Some posts will be simple devotionals or thoughts God has laid on my heart, tied in with Scripture. Some posts will be a part of a series of lessons intended to be a more in-depth Bible study on a specific topic. Every post or series will point you to the good news of Jesus Christ and the work he has done to save you for eternity.
What are the benefits of a free subscription?
Weekly Bible studies delivered directly to your inbox: This is the core mission of Grounded in the Bible.
Access to Notes: Substack has a Notes platform that I often use to reflect on ideas that were meaningful to me from other writers’ posts or to share thoughts from my own daily Bible readings. You can access these Notes on Grounded in the Bible’s website or through the Substack app (highly recommend the app!).
Access to premium resources: Many studies come along with premium resources that support the weekly Bible studies, such as journaling sheets, PowerPoint presentations, verse cards, or Bible bingo cards.
Access to past Bible studies: Past weekly Bible studies are available to you through the archives. You can work through these studies on your own time.
Access to discussion posts: Discussion posts are intended to get your feedback or ideas on a question I pose to the group. These will be most impactful if everyone participates, so please share your thoughts!
Access to site indexes: As I begin to build my library of Bible studies, it may become difficult to find a study on a specific topic among all of the weekly posts. I will post indexes of articles that can be used to find a Bible study that covers a topic you want to understand.
It only costs your email address!
What are the benefits of a paid subscription?
All benefits of free subscription
Access to spontaneous ponderings: Sometimes I have Bible-related thoughts running through my head that may not be as fully developed as my weekly Bible studies. Occasionally, I might decide to put these thoughts onto paper and share them with you.
Access to James Method verse mapping posts: New in 2024! I received a James Method verse mapping journal for Christmas 2023. For each verse map I finish, I will post it for paid subscribers. This verse mapping method is what I will be using for my own personal Bible study, so this will give you a glimpse into what I am learning throughout the year.
Courses. Over time, I will be adding courses to the resources available through Grounded in the Bible. These courses are designed to provide practical application for living life as a Christ-follower. As a paid subscriber, you will have access to all courses as they become available for as long as you maintain your membership.
Invest in your own spiritual growth. People pay attention to what they pay for. If you want to give yourself a reason to be consistent in reading the Bible studies each week, signing up for a paid subscription will give you that incentive.
Support the continued development of Bible studies: Writing Bible studies takes a lot of time and effort, and by becoming a paid subscriber, you play a part in supporting the ongoing effort required to maintain Grounded in the Bible.
Only costs $5/month or $50/year.

Upgrade to a LIFETIME paid membership: Ongoing monthly or annual memberships are annoying to me personally. I would just rather pay once and have access for life. So I am offering you that option in the Founding Member subscription! Pay once, have access for life for the equivalent cost of a 2-year annual subscription.
Cost: $100 one-time
