I’m switching the question up a little bit to be more all-encompassing:
How have you seen God working in the world around you this week?
This could be something that happened to you, something you witnessed someone else do, or a story you saw that spoke to your heart. Examples include:
You saw a news story of Christ at work in the world.
You saw someone do something extraordinarily kind for someone else.
Someone came to help you in your time of need in an unexpected way.
You witnessed someone accept Christ as their Savior or be baptized.
Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in our own little world that we fail to look for signs of Christ working in the world around us. This often leads us to believe that Christ isn’t working. I’m hoping that by consistently posing this question, it will remind us to be looking for evidence that Christ is still at work through his people. Some weeks, we may not get any stories. Some weeks, we may get a lot of stories. But I want the opportunity to always be there for you to share stories of how Christ is at work as a way to encourage Christians to stay strong in the faith.
John 13:34-35: [Jesus said] “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
This past weekend I felt God comforting my wife through a conversation we were having with my dad. My wife is planning to leave her job for another opportunity but is dreading the conversations she'll have with her boss and coworkers explaining her reasons for leaving. My dad, not knowing her anxiety, described how little he's looking forward to having similar conversations with his boss when he retires. My wife, early in her career, found great comfort in hearing her worries shared by my dad, late and extremely successful in his career. Her comfort and the timing of the conversation was surely God's doing, since we'd each been praying about the issue for months. Add in her upcoming job interview, and His work is basically a billboard.
I hope this example is an encouragement for others, just as it was for us.
Thanks for sharing! It's always amazing to me when God works through someone, and they don't even have a clue at the time that their encouragement was needed.
This is a great reminder of the importance of kindness. You don't always know what is going on with someone behind the scenes - even for those you are close to. "Be kind and compassionate to one another" - a command to Christians from Ephesians 4:32.

Agreed. "Amazing" is the word - my dad was simply imparting wisdom with kindness, and he unknowingly loved on us more than he knew.
